Dr. Robin Tener is a licensed clinical psychologist who serves as the executive and clinical director of Northeast Ohio Behavioral Health, as well as a part-time psychologist at Akron Children’s Hospital. Tener has worked with victims of trauma since 1987.
She was originally trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, but is also proficient in other evidence-based models as well as emerging trauma treatment methods. Tener has advanced the application of trauma-focused services in a number of different populations, including Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice. She’s a member of the Steering Committee of the Stark County Traumatized Child Task Force and has worked with the Honorable Michael Howard to advance the goals and objectives of the task force.
Tener organized and currently maintains the Trauma-Focused Treatment Learning Collaborative in Stark County, and assisted the Stark County Family Court with implementing trauma screening of juveniles at the court. She regularly works with foster parents, Child Protective Services caseworkers, teachers, physicians, Juvenile, Family and Domestic Relations judges and magistrates, law enforcement, guardians ad litem, juvenile court prosecutors and other child-serving professionals. She is also a well-known speaker on the impact of trauma in childhood.
