Dr. Peter Vande Kappelle has earned a national reputation in pediatric cardiology. For more than 10 years, he has presented across the Midwest to medical students and professionals on pediatric cardiology topics, including the “Transposition of the Great Arteries” and an “Introduction to Pediatric Cardiology.” He has also conducted extensive research on the correlation between bicuspid aortic valve fusion patterns for surgical versus non-surgical patients and electrocardiographic predictors of late arrhythmias in pediatric heart transplant recipients. In 2005, he presented his research on bicuspid aortic valve morphology at the American Academy of Pediatrics National Conference in Washington, D.C. Dr. Kappelle is a member in training for the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology.
