Dr. Pat Seifert is certified in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and has completed the trauma focused CBT at the Mayerson Center for Safe and Healthy Children in Cincinnati. She specializes in the treatment of adolescents and adults, and has worked extensively with individuals with depression and anxiety disorders as well as chemical dependency. Before coming to Akron Children’s, Seifert served as the clinical director of Oriana House, a community-based corrections facility, and as a clinical consultant to the Addiction and Mental Health Crisis Center in Akron. The results of her dissertation led to the development of a women’s treatment program that addresses the needs of women who are chemically dependent and childhood victims of sexual abuse. She has conducted child sexual abuse assessments and custody evaluations for traumatized children. Seifert is also a well-known presenter on child abuse and risk prevention.
