As a member of the medical staff for the Craniofacial Clinic and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Center at Akron Children’s Hospital, Dr. Patel helps provide the full range of reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery services for infants, children and teens. He has a special interest in treating congenital and acquired deformities of the skull, facial bones and overlying soft tissue.

Dr. Patel specializes in the following conditions:

• Cleft lip and palate
• Craniosynostosis
• Syndromes such as Apert, Pfeiffer, Crouzon, Saethre-Chotzen, Treacher- Collins, Nager, Beckwith-Wiedemann, Parry Romberg and Prune Belly
• Hemifacial microsomia, craniofacial microsomia and Goldenhar syndrome
• Congenital and acquired jaw deformities
• Congenital anomalies of the nose, ears and tongue
• Tumors of the craniofacial bones and soft tissue
• Traumatic deformities of the face and skull
• General pediatric plastic and reconstructive surgery services for birth marks, moles, vascular malformations and abnormal scars
