Meet Our Patients

Akron Children’s developmental-behavioral pediatricians evaluate and treat children and teens with developmental and behavioral problems, such as autism spectrum disorders, ADHD and learning difficulties. We provide nearly 8,000 patient visits annually, including more than 1,200 new patients.

Our team includes physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, medical assistants, social workers and patient service representatives. Together, we help families understand the root cause of their child’s developmental or behavioral problem and advocate for resources that enrich the quality of life for the child and family.

During appointments, we:

  • assess each child’s developmental history
  • perform physical and neurological exams
  • consider the impact of genetics, as well as life experiences, to determine differences in development and behavior

An individualized treatment plan is developed to address both the medical and psychosocial aspects of a child’s diagnosis.
