Ellis-van Creveld syndrome is a rare genetic disorder characterized by short-limb dwarfism, additional fingers and/or toes, abnormal development of fingernails, and congenital heart defects. Ellis-van Creveld syndrome is more common among certain ethnic groups, particularly the Amish.
