Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) is a rapid heart rate that involves both the upper and lower heart chambers. Signs include an abrupt onset of palpitations (rapid heart beats); shortness of breath; light-headedness; pallor (extreme paleness); chest pain; nausea; and rarely, fainting.
