At the conclusion of the elective, the medical student will have a greater understanding of the current concepts of the physics, pathophysiology and management of thermal burns, electrical burns, chemical burns, inhalation injuries, and their relationship to morbidity and mortality and patient recovery in the pediatric and adult population.
