Sue Kuderca, RN, was recently named the new manager of surgical services at Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley, scheduled to open in October.
Kuderca has 32 years of experience in operating room nursing, including management responsibilities. From April 1978 until May 2001, Kuderca was a registered nurse for Forum Health at the Northside Medical Center in Youngstown. There she gained experience with general, orthopedic, neurosurgery, cardiovascular and thoracic surgery.
In addition to serving as a registered nurse, Kuderca was the assistant clinical nurse manager over cardiac, vascular and thoracic surgery at the Northside Medical Center from June 1996 until May 2001. She then served at the director of surgery/PACU at Salem Community Hospital until May 2003.
Prior to her new position with Akron Children’s, Kuderca was a staff nurse in the operating room at the Surgical Hospital at Southwoods, then known as the Surgery Center at Southwoods, in Boardman, Ohio.
Kuderca earned her bachelor’s of science degree in nursing from Youngstown State University in June 1997. She received Certified Nurse, Operating Room certification in 1992.
Kuderca resides in Boardman.
