Steroids Recalled Over Meningitis Concerns (WJW)

Micah Baird, MD, a pediatric physiatrist at Akron Children's Hospital, was featured in a report about the recent outbreak of meningitis caused by a fungal contamination of injectable steroids produced by Massachusetts lab. Dr. Baird discussed phenol, a different medication produced by same lab, that is used at Children's. The medication and many others produced by the lab have also been recalled as a precaution, but are not linked in any way to the outbreak. Originally aired on WJW on October 17, 2012.
