Meet the Marathon Superheroes

Courage, strength and hope are qualities embodied by the superheroes who soar through the comic books adored by generations of fan boys and girls. At Akron Children's, we see these same qualities in the superheroes who walk through our doors every day - the children who are fighting very real injuries and illnesses. Several of these young patients will be highlighted in specially-designated 'Hero Zones' at the 2016 FirstEnergy Akron Marathon, Half Marathon & Team Relay, the final leg of the Akron Children's Hospital Akron Marathon Race Series. Their secret identities were revealed to the public before the first leg of this series, the National Interstate Insurance 8K and 1 Mile, held June 25, 2016.
