Water Safety

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, drowning is the leading cause of injury-related death among children ages 1-4 years old. In this Children's Channel video, Gia Ramsey, the injury prevention coordinator for Akron Children's Hospital Mahoning Valley, stresses the importance of supervision when children are near water, as well as several other strategies to help keep kids safely in the swim.
